How Helpara collects, uses, and protects your information.

Helpara LLC ("Helpara", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to your use of helparaglobal.com and any related services we operate (the "Platform").
Helpara is a US-only marketplace. By using the Platform, you confirm you are located in the United States and you consent to the practices described below.
Helpara LLC is a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Colorado, USA. The data controller for personal information collected through the Platform is Helpara LLC. You can contact us at helparaglobal@gmail.com.
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you sign up using a third-party login (e.g. Google), we receive basic profile data from that provider.
Profile information. Depending on whether you are seeking or offering support, this may include your phone number, US city and state, languages, gender and pronouns (if you choose to share them), bio, services offered, rate, availability, certifications, and whether you are offering as an individual or a registered business.
Identity verification documents. Support People must upload a valid US government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID). This is required to list services on the Platform.
Background check consent. Support People provide written consent for a future criminal background check to be performed by Helpara's verification partner. The actual background check is run once that integration is operational; consent is collected in advance.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not see or store your full credit card or bank account numbers. Stripe collects and handles this information directly. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Communications. Messages exchanged between users on the Platform, as well as messages sent to Helpara directly, are stored to support our service and enforce our Terms of Service.
Usage data. We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Platform: pages visited, search queries, device and browser type, IP address, approximate location (city level), and timestamps. We use this to operate, secure, and improve the Platform.
Location data. When you search by location or use "Use my current location," we use your browser's geolocation feature (with your permission) to identify your approximate area. We do not continuously track your location.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information to train AI models other than to provide platform features (e.g. matching).
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
With other users. If you are a Support Person, your profile (name, photo, services, rates, location at city level, languages, bio, reviews) is visible to families browsing the Platform. If you are seeking support, your name and messages are visible to Support People you contact.
With service providers. We share information with vendors who help us operate the Platform: Stripe (payments), Netlify (hosting and forms), Google (Analytics, fonts, and optional OAuth login), and our future background check provider. These vendors are contractually limited to using your information only to provide their services to Helpara.
For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, subpoena, or legal process; to protect the safety, rights, or property of Helpara, our users, or the public; or to investigate fraud or violations of our Terms of Service.
In a business transfer. If Helpara is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Account data: kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
ID documents: deleted within 90 days after identity verification is complete, unless we are required by law to retain them longer.
Booking and payment records: retained as required for tax and accounting purposes (generally seven years).
Communications: retained as long as needed to provide support and enforce our Terms.
Access and correction. You can view and update most of your profile information directly in your account settings.
Deletion. You can request deletion of your account by emailing helparaglobal@gmail.com. We will delete your personal information unless we are required to retain it by law.
Portability. You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you in a machine-readable format.
Marketing. We do not currently send marketing email. If we begin to, you will be able to opt out in every message.
Geolocation. You can disable location access in your browser at any time. Disabling it may limit some search features.
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, or any other state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you have additional rights under that law, including the right to know, access, delete, correct, and opt out of certain processing of your personal information.
Helpara does not "sell" personal information as that term is defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA), and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To exercise any state-law privacy right, email helparaglobal@gmail.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
Helpara is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Childcare services arranged on the Platform are arranged by adult family members on behalf of a child; the child is not a user of the Platform. If you believe we have collected information from someone under 18 directly, email helparaglobal@gmail.com and we will delete it.
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, including HTTPS for all traffic, restricted access to ID documents, and secure payment processing through Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions (such as keeping you logged in), and for analytics through Google Analytics. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Helpara's US city autocomplete uses the "world-cities (including US states)" dataset by joelacus, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). The dataset is used unmodified for the US-only subset and is available at github.com/joelacus/world-cities.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will provide additional notice (such as an email or a notice on the Platform) before the change takes effect.

Welcome to Helpara. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of helparaglobal.com and any related services (the "Platform") provided by Helpara LLC ("Helpara", "we", "our", or "us"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
Important. Helpara is a marketplace that connects families with independent Support People. Helpara is not the provider of the support services, is not the employer of any Support Person, and does not control how Support People perform their services. By using Helpara you accept the risks of contracting directly with independent service providers.

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use Helpara.
Helpara is a US-only marketplace. To use the Platform, you must be located in the United States. Support People must have a valid US bank account to receive payouts.
If you are using the Platform to arrange support for a minor (e.g. childcare), you must be the parent, legal guardian, or otherwise authorized representative of that minor.
Helpara is a marketplace, not a service provider. Helpara facilitates connections between families seeking support ("Clients") and independent service providers ("Support People"). Helpara does not provide the support services itself. Each Support Person is an independent contractor, not an employee or agent of Helpara.
Verification. Every Support Person uploads a valid US government-issued ID and consents to a future criminal background check before listing services. Each profile is reviewed before going live. Helpara does not currently run criminal background checks; consent is collected so background checks can begin once Helpara's verification partner is integrated.
Independent judgment. Clients are responsible for evaluating each Support Person and deciding whether to book them. Helpara's verification and review process is not a substitute for the Client's own assessment. The "Verified" badge means a Support Person's ID has been reviewed and their profile approved — it is not a guarantee of suitability for any particular family or task.
You are responsible for the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and to keep it accurate and up to date. We may suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information.
Payment processing. All payments on Helpara are processed through Stripe. By using the Platform you agree to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy. Helpara does not store full payment card numbers.
Platform fee. Helpara charges a 15% platform fee on every completed booking. The Support Person receives 85% of the booking total. The Client pays the listed rate in full at the time of booking. All transactions are in US dollars.
Escrow. Payments are held by Stripe until the booking is completed. After completion, the Support Person's share is released to their connected US bank account on Stripe's standard schedule.
Cancellations. Clients may cancel a booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours may be subject to the Support Person's individual cancellation policy as listed on their profile. No-shows may forfeit the full booking amount.
Off-platform payments are prohibited. Clients and Support People must not arrange or accept payments outside of Helpara. Doing so removes platform protections, may result in account termination, and is a material breach of these Terms.
All communication between Clients and Support People relating to a booking must take place through Helpara. This protects both parties, allows us to enforce these Terms, and provides a record if a dispute arises. Sharing personal contact information to move conversations off-platform before a booking is confirmed is a violation of these Terms.
You agree not to:
Violations may result in suspension or permanent termination of your account, withholding of pending payouts where applicable, and referral to law enforcement.
Some services listed on Helpara — such as nursing, plumbing, electrical work, mental health counseling, and certain home repairs — require a state license. Support People who offer these services represent that they hold all required US state and local licenses, certifications, and insurance, and they are solely responsible for legal compliance. Helpara does not verify licenses and is not responsible for unlicensed practice.
Reviews and ratings on Helpara must be honest, accurate, and based on the user's direct experience with the Support Person or Client being reviewed. Helpara may remove reviews that violate these Terms, contain personal attacks, or appear fraudulent.
You retain ownership of the content you post on Helpara (profile information, photos, messages, reviews). By posting content, you grant Helpara a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, distribute, and modify that content as needed to operate and promote the Platform.
You represent that you own or have all necessary rights to the content you post, and that the content does not violate any law or third party's rights.
You may close your account at any time by emailing helparaglobal@gmail.com.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, posed a risk to other users, or otherwise acted in a way that harms the Platform. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including but not limited to ownership, indemnification, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Helpara does not warrant the conduct, qualifications, or suitability of any Support Person or Client. Helpara does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. You use the Platform at your own risk and are responsible for your own decisions about whom to book and how to interact with them.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HELPARA AND ITS OFFICERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, ANY SUPPORT PERSON'S CONDUCT OR SERVICES, OR ANY CLIENT'S CONDUCT.
HELPARA'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE PLATFORM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL PLATFORM FEES YOU HAVE PAID HELPARA IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Helpara LLC, its officers, members, employees, and agents from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your interactions with other users.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Denver, Colorado, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Platform after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented at the time of booking, are the entire agreement between you and Helpara regarding the Platform.
